Les Fontaines is a study and training centre with a reputation throughout Europe, managed by Jesuit fathers.
The Chateau in which it is housed, was built in a huge park by Baron Nathan de Rothschild. The centre, with a 600,000 volume library, was expanded into a cultural centre in 1970.
A large programme of symposia, meetings and seminars takes place each year. Since 1982 the centre has housed the Robert Schuman Institute for Europe.
Accommodation for young people is provided in the residential hall. Its 140 rooms permit study and research in a calm, relaxing and warm environment.
